Who are we?
Topmarks Education was conceived by Sue Spolton, a primary school teacher
and Chris Spolton who designs the site.
We decided to develop a free web
site which would help others to use the Internet effectively for learning.
Topmarks is aimed specifically at pupils, teachers and parents. Although we
bias our resources to UK curriculum requirements, we know they are
appreciated globally from the feedback we receive. All sites featuring on
Topmarks are carefully reviewed by teachers. They are also regularly
re-checked because of the changing nature of the Web.
Topmarks Education was launched in September 1998 with the following aims:
- to provide easy access to the best educational web sites.
- to help teachers use the web in the classroom.
- to help parents to support the education of their children.
Since its launch our site has been highly acclaimed within the educational
community and in the media and we have established a substantial user base.
