Stay active with BBC Super Movers
The FIFA World Cup is on everyone's lips right now, so the message of getting active and staying healthy is fun to get across. But how can teachers keep that up? Take a look at the BBC's Super Movers campaign
Here at Topmarks, we're liking the idea of the Super Movers programme to help get kids active. The benefits of exercise breaks to boost concentration and mood are well known, so make the most of this campaign, partnered with the Premier League.
Launched earlier this year, the Super Movers initiative provides a series of fun and FREE resources, including educational videos designed to get kids moving! Featuring stars from the worlds of football and TV, the quick-to-use videos are sure to inspire. Use them for wet play, PE warmups as well as supporting classroom teaching.
With ideas tailored for both KS1 and KS2, the curriculum-linked song and movement routines called Brain Boosters are set to keep pupils motivated and engaged for learning around numeracy and literacy subjects (Flash player required).
No equipment is required and there is a section of the site with teachers' tips, for extra support. PLUS: enjoy downloadable printables to track your Super Movers' progress. And why not sign up up to the Super Movers newsletter to keep updated about new video uploads?
Look out for the extra Super Movers 'Just For Fun' videos linked to BBC brands such as Springwatch and Blue Planet II, too.
Be a Super Mover school and supercharge kids' learning, with fitness! And watch for bonus footy-themed incentives like the monthly prize draw for the chance to win a visit from the Premier League trophy or Scottish Professional Football League Premiership trophy to your school. (T&Cs apply.)
