We created the free-to-use Topmarks fonts - available in Regular and Bold options - as a great resource, which is ideal for use by Early Years and primary school teachers.
Based on personal experience, we understood the frustration felt by teachers when wanting to prepare classroom materials for youngsters, but struggling to find an appropriate (and free!) font.
Comic Sans, inspired by comic book lettering, has been the most common choice for teachers, as a compromise. But with the help of top font designers, we the created the Topmarks fonts as a free alternative.
A significant factor in the collaboration to produce our Topmarks fonts was that the letters and numbers should be formed similar to how children first learn to write.
Knowing there have been 10,000 downloads of the fonts is really exciting - we hope that this number grows even more as more teachers make the most of this resource!
