New 2D Shape Reveal Resource
We have just launched 2D Shape Reveal, a new teaching resource to help children learn the names and properties of 2D shapes. It has been designed primarily for use on an interactive whiteboard for whole class or group teaching.
There are three teaching modes which progress in difficulty, making the resource suitable throughout the primary age and possibly for some secondary age students too. They are: Basic Shapes, Quadrilaterals and Regular and Irregular Shapes.
The names and properties of shapes are deliberately concealed at first to provide an opportunity for teachers to discuss and test knowledge of each shape before revealing the details.
Shapes are slowly revealed giving learners the opportunity to guess out loud the names of the shapes in a fun way. The 'shape blind' can be paused at any time to reveal a partial shape to make the guessing game more tricky.
