Free Teach your Monster Number Skills
If you are a teacher or parent of young children you may be interested in a free mathematics game Teach Your Monster Number Skills. The game is available to all schools worldwide on all devices, courtesy of The Usborne Foundation. All the games feature the numbers up to 10 and they all have attractive graphics.
The resource has two modes: Adventure which loads by default and Practice. We think the Practice option is more useful as it is easier to navigate and less random.

In the counting games, numbers are represented either by numerals, fingers on a hand, counters in a ten frame or dots on dice. The range of numbers can be limited between 3 and 10 for very young children who have to make the monster jump up or down on platforms to count up or down in ones. The instructions are verbal but adult explanation may be required especially on the counting down game which asks the children to jump up to the next number!
Jump Down
We especially like the two, fun subitising numbers to 10 games which we think children will love. Our favourite is the bumper cars game where numbers need to be matched with dots on two dice. This game also appears under the number bonds section too.
Bump the Bumper Car
The other requires the user to match numbers to snails in a box.
How Many Snails?
The number bond games are engaging. There are four more in addition to the bumper cars game. Two involve adding on to make up a number and one, the number slide game requires users to find the missing number bond. All the games serve to reinforce number bonds in a fun way.
