Autumn Leaves Activity
Here's a fun autumn activity idea which young children love.
We know that many teachers take their classes on outings to observe the signs of autumn at first hand, whether it be in the school grounds or further afield. In the days of digital cameras young children are often encouraged to make their own photographic records, but here's another simple practical science activity that children will love doing.
All you need is a sticky label for each child and then let them loose to find as many different autumn colours by tearing small pieces of leaves that they find and stick them on the label. The fun is in the looking and observation, but the activity provides good opportunities for discussion and you can always add the finished labels to other 'finds' an autumn themed class display.
