The Eggs Start to Hatch

The eggs don't all hatch at once, so the parent birds need to feed their chicks and keep the remaining eggs warm too. As the chicks hatch the parents remove the broken shells from the nest.
The chicks cannot see as their eyes have not opened yet, but they open their mouths wide when they hear their parents come to the nest.
